This race, one of the key stages in the the Golden Trail World Seriestook place on 42 km with a vertical drop impressive 2.736 metres.
This demanding course attracts the world's trail eliteready to take on the Basque mountains and the indomitable enthusiasm of the 30,000 local supporters.
No records were broken this year, but theintensity of the competition was nonetheless breathtaking.
Kilian Jornetback on his home turf, his 11th victory in Zegama, proving once again that he is the undisputed master of these mountains.
For women, Sylvia Nordskar has landed its first win in a stage of the Golden Trail World Series, taking an early lead in the race to never give them away.
