What is rotator cuff calcification?
The rotator cuff is the name given to the set of muscles that ensure shoulder movement and stability. As a reminder, the shoulder is a complex joint, offering the greatest range of motion of any human body. There are 4 rotator cuff musclesThese include the supraspinatus (supraspinatus), infraspinatus (infraspinatus), subscapularis (subscapularis) and teres minor (teres minor) muscles. These muscles are supported by 4 tendons which come together to attach themselves to the humerus, capping the head of the bone. This is the origin of the term rotator cuff.
We speak of calcific tendonitis when calcium crystals are deposited inside the tendon. The deposit is usually linear in shape, measuring between 2 and 5 mm, and causes inflammation of the tendon. Many people experience no symptoms or discomfort at all, so the condition may go unnoticed. Others, on the other hand, experience severe and very painful inflammatory flare-ups.
What causes tendon calcification?
Calcification of the rotator cuff is a rather common shoulder disorder, affecting on average 8% of the population.
The origin of this disorder is not always clear-cut, but the accumulation of repeated micro-injuries to the tendon may be the cause of a "tendonitis". calcific tendinopathy. Repeated movements in a professional or sporting context are then blamed, but this is not a general rule. Sometimes, the source of the disturbance remains unknown.
What are the main symptoms?
Pain is the main symptom of rotator cuff calcification. This disturbance can evolve in two ways:
- chronicle : Pain is a daily occurrence, usually triggered by movement of the shoulder. They can also occur at night in the form of inflammatory flare-ups.
- acute : the pain appears suddenly and is extremely intense, even unbearable. This period corresponds mainly to the fragmentation of the calcification. The pocket containing the calcium crystals eventually ruptures, triggering an extremely painful inflammatory phenomenon. The irritating crystals are at the root of this excessive pain, and it will take a few days to eliminate the classification.
Whatever the symptoms, it's important to consult a doctor at the first sign of pain.

How to relieve rotator cuff calcification?
When calcific tendonitis is painful, mobility can be severely restricted, making everyday life difficult. However, it is possible to relieve shoulder problems quickly and naturally. Here are a few examples:
- Feeding : certain foods can play an important role in regulating your body. Products rich in phosphorus and calcium can promote calcium deposits, so limit them. Conversely, nutmeg naturally balances blood calcium levels, so now's the time to take advantage of it.
- Osteopathy : osteopathy sessions will gradually restore movement to the shoulder.
- STIMCARE patches STIMCARE patches provide natural, effective relief for shoulder disorders. Made from natural mineral oxides, they mirror the infrared rays emitted by the body during inflammation. Concentrated on precise points, they stimulate blood microcirculation, release tension and drain accumulated toxins. Very simple to use, they stay on the skin for 3 to 5 days and have a long-lasting beneficial effect. Applied to the specific points presented in the video tutorials, the patches provide rapid, long-lasting relief (see TUTO: "Relieving shoulder discomfort").
Calcification of the rotator cuff is a common but often overlooked condition. STIMCARE patches help you to naturally relieve shoulder discomfort and quickly regain comfort and mobility.
