It plays a sensory and motor role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The carpal tunnel and median nerve are fundamental to the production of wrist and hand movements. When these movements become too repetitive, the tendons become irritated, swell and the inside of the sheath becomes inflamed. These include repetitive movements involving flexion and extension, wrist twisting and the use of considerable hand strength, as well as the repeated use of the thumb index finger. Prolonged driving can also be harmful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, a number of precautions can be taken<strong><mark style=\"color:#12ad78\" class=\"has-inline-color\"> prevent this syndrome<\/mark><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, during repetitive tasks, it is advisable to take breaks and to<strong><mark style=\"color:#12ad78\" class=\"has-inline-color\">stretch your wrist<\/mark><\/strong>.
